WANTED.

 

HEADQUARTERS 1ST REGIMENT SOUTH CAROLINA INFANTRY

August 1st, 1861.

 

Capt. W. Feuchtenberger, Pvt. S. Butler, Cpl. M. Bergo are detailed to recruit within the state for the 1st Regiment South Carolina Volunteer Infantry Co H.

Pursuant to the above order, we have established  recruiting offices around the state, and earnestly request all persons willing to supply the places of the gallant soldiers who fell in the late action at Manassus, by joining the 1st Regiment South Carolina Volunteer Infantry, to come forward at once and report to us.

 

Brig. General Carson gives his full consent to those

Wishing to tender themselves from the Militia into the Volunteer service. We appeal to you all, fellow soldiers, a service in which you bear all the burdens of war and reap little of its glory, to enter the Brigade under whose banner you can meet neither defeat nor dishonor, but must march to certain victory and glory.
